Emergency Entry into Vehicle

PRIORITY 2    ASAP

Response Requirements:  1 Officer


1. Determine if call meets dispatch situations

     a) Small child or disabled individual locked inside vehicle

     b) Location of vehicle may cause danger

(For example, car parked inside a garage or enclosed area with its engine running or stranded on the berm of a busy freeway)

     c) Driver stranded in an isolated area may expose them to danger

(This is important during the hours of darkness, ie.. a driver stranded in a mall parking lot after business hours)

     d) Animal is locked in a vehicle

IF a situation above applies... write an incident for Dispatch.


If none of the above apply, offer to send a ProTow wrecker at the caller's expense.

This code is used by officers to mark a unit busy for a duration of time during the shift to have technology issues resolved by a technician or time marked busy by the exclusive purpose of uploading and/or categorizing video.
